Rock Fall Netting at Barmouth

Contractor: Colin Jones (Rock Engineering) Ltd

Description of Project:
Following a rock slide in early April 2012, which resulted in rock falling onto the A496 road, Rock Engineering were asked to carry out rock stabilising works by the local County Council. The works were carried out immediately to prevent further rock falls and delays to the traffic. The works were 20miles from Rock Engineering’s headquarters.

Rope Access & High access machine methods were used to carry out all of the rock face work. Works included the removal of the rock fall, de vegetation of the rock face installation of 20no rock bolts at 2 & 3m long , 65no x 1m & 1.5m long rock netting bolts and the fixing of 400m2 of rock fall netting.
