Description of Project
We were called in to the caverns at Zip World, Blaenau Ffestiniog in 2014 to install rock fall netting and rock bolts following a rock fall. We have been called back numerous times ever since to design and build challenging rope access projects such as:
- Design and build of thousands of m2 of rock fall netting and thousands of rock bolts on the roof and walls of the caverns
- Design and build of 2 catch fences with 40mm solid bars drilled into the rock face, rock netting and wire ropes.
- Blasting out a channel on the cavern floor below the zipline to allow for more room below.
- Blasting out a 12m x 1.5m tunnel on a 30-degree angle.
- Installation of a ladder to make it look as if hanging in mid-air for effect with a safety line for use.
These difficult access projects were performed safely using rope access techniques which we use on a daily basis.
